Trekking Mate grew from a family deeply connected to Nepal’s trekking and mountaineering industry. The Managing Director’s father spent more than 30 years in tourism, including working as an expedition chef. Inspired by this family legacy, Subash built his own career from the ground up, progressing from porter to assistant guide, trekking guide, mountaineer and expedition leader before becoming Managing Director. Each stage brought greater knowledge, practical experience and responsibility. He did not begin by selling trekking experiences. He began by helping carry them. That journey gave him a firsthand understanding of the people, preparation and teamwork behind every successful adventure.

With more than 10 years of relevant industry experience, we understand that mountains do not always follow an itinerary. Weather changes, flights are delayed, trails become difficult and conditions at altitude can change rapidly. These realities demand preparation, sound judgement and the ability to adapt when circumstances change. The Managing Director has led mountaineering and expedition activities with a 100% success rate to date and no recorded casualties under his expedition leadership. While past achievements cannot eliminate future risks, they reflect experience gained through preparation, leadership and decision-making in demanding environments. For us, reaching the destination matters. Bringing people home safely matters more.
